The conversion of Rainisoalambo

A life in darkness

Born around 1839 in Ambalavato Ambatoreny, Rainisoalambo was a Betsileo royal steward known for his eloquence. Yet he lived in darkness: sorcery, divination and astrology, never praying to the Lord.

God's visitation

In 1893, God visited him. Struck with ulcers, forsaken by his family and fallen into misery, he finally turned to the God of the Christians: "Why do I suffer so?"

Deliverance and healing

That night he heard: "Forsake idolatry and turn to Me, and you shall be healed." He obeyed, destroyed his idols and was restored. Then he laid hands on his sick relatives: twelve were healed, thirteen with him.
